Forgiving others can indeed be a key step towards receiving self-forgiveness. When we hold onto grudges and resentment towards others, it can weigh us down and prevent us from moving forward. By letting go of these negative emotions and choosing to forgive, we can begin to heal and release the burden that’s been holding us back.
Forgiving others doesn’t mean that what they did was okay, but rather that we’re choosing to release the hold they have on us. It’s a way of taking back our power and freeing ourselves from the negative emotions that have been tied to the experience.
As we forgive others, we begin to create space for self-reflection and self-compassion. We start to see that we, too, are deserving of forgiveness and kindness. By extending forgiveness to others, we can begin to extend it to ourselves as well, and this can be a powerful catalyst for healing and growth.
When we receive self-forgiveness, we’re able to:

4. *Experience inner peace and freedom*: We can start to feel a sense of liberation and peace, as we release the weight of negative emotions and self-criticism.
Remember, forgiveness is a journey, and it may take time to work through our emotions and come to a place of self-forgiveness. But with patience, self-compassion, and a willingness to let go, we can begin to heal and move forward, one step at a time.
