Feel the Healing Through Forgiveness with Hypnotherapy

Imagine any remaining resentment, anger, or hurt leaving your body as we do this session. See it being released, like autumn leaves drifting gently to the ground.

Here is a sample hypnotherapy script for “Healing Through Forgiveness”:

Induction

(Soft, calming music plays in the background)

“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session, where you’ll embark on a journey of healing and forgiveness. Find a comfortable seated or lying position, with your back supported. Take a deep breath in through your nose, and out through your mouth. Allow your body to relax, starting from your toes, up to the top of your head.

As you breathe in, imagine fresh, calming air filling your lungs. As you breathe out, imagine any tension, stress, or anxiety leaving your body. Take another deep breath in, and out, and allow yourself to settle deeper into relaxation.

Deepening

“Imagine yourself standing at the edge of a peaceful lake on a warm summer day. Feel the soft grass beneath your feet, and the gentle breeze on your skin. With each breath, allow your body to become more relaxed, more calm.

As you gaze out at the lake, notice the water’s surface. See the ripples and waves gently lapping against the shore. With each wave, imagine any remaining tension or stress being washed away, leaving you feeling more serene, more at peace.

Forgiveness Journey

“Now, imagine a person or situation that has been causing you pain, hurt, or resentment. This could be a past trauma, a relationship, or a personal experience. Allow this image to arise in your mind’s eye.

As you reflect on this experience, notice the emotions that arise. Allow yourself to feel these emotions, but also remind yourself that you are safe, and that you are in control.

Now, imagine that you are standing in front of this person or situation. See them standing before you, and notice their expression. It may be difficult to look at them, but try to maintain eye contact.

Forgiveness Statement

“As you gaze at this person or situation, repeat the following statement to yourself: ‘I choose to forgive [name/person/situation]. I release the pain, the hurt, and the resentment associated with this experience. I let go of the need to hold onto this burden, and I choose to heal.’

Allow these words to sink deeply into your mind and heart. As you repeat this statement, imagine a warm, white light beginning to emanate from your heart. This light represents forgiveness, compassion, and understanding.

Healing and Release

“As this light grows, imagine it enveloping the person or situation before you. See this light filling any wounds, any pain, or any hurt. Allow this light to heal and release any negative emotions associated with this experience.

As you exhale, imagine any remaining resentment, anger, or hurt leaving your body. See it being released, like autumn leaves drifting gently to the ground.

Self-Forgiveness

“Now, turn your attention to yourself. Have you been holding onto guilt, shame, or self-criticism related to this experience?

Allow yourself to acknowledge these feelings, and then repeat the following statement: ‘I forgive myself for [self-criticism/guilt/shame]. I release the need to hold onto self-blame, and I choose to heal.’

Imagine this warm, white light now filling your own heart, healing and releasing any self-criticism or negative self-talk.

Integration and Awakening

“As you continue to breathe deeply, imagine yourself integrating this newfound sense of forgiveness and compassion. See yourself moving forward, feeling lighter, freer, and more at peace.

When you are ready, slowly open your eyes. Take a deep breath in, and out, and notice how you feel. Allow this sense of forgiveness and healing to stay with you, guiding you in your daily life.”

Awakening

(Soft music continues to play)

“Take a deep breath in, and out. When you are ready, slowly open your eyes. Notice how you feel, and take a moment to journal or reflect on your experience.”

Activate Self-Compassion and Forgiveness with Hypnotherapy

To activate self-compassion and forgiveness, start by acknowledging your mistakes and the pain they caused, then approach yourself with kindness and understanding, similar to how you would treat a friend.

Here is a hypnotherapy script designed to help activate self-compassion and forgiveness:

Induction

(Soft, calming music plays in the background)

“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session, where you’ll cultivate self-compassion and forgiveness. Find a comfortable seated or lying position, close your eyes, and take a deep breath in… and out… Allow yourself to relax, letting go of any tension or stress.

Imagine yourself standing on a peaceful beach at sunset. Feel the soft sand beneath your feet, the gentle ocean breeze on your skin, and the warm sun on your face. With each breath, allow your body to relax further, sinking into a state of deep relaxation.”

Deepening

“As you continue to breathe deeply, imagine a warm, soothing light beginning to fill your body. This light represents self-compassion and forgiveness. It starts at the crown of your head, flowing down through your face, neck, and shoulders… relaxing any areas of tension or stress.

As this light travels through your body, it dissolves any negative thoughts or emotions, replacing them with kindness, understanding, and patience. Allow this light to fill your entire being, nurturing your mind, heart, and soul.”

Self-Compassion

“Now, bring to mind a situation or experience where you felt self-criticism or judgment. See it in your mind’s eye, but this time, imagine approaching it with kindness and compassion. Speak to yourself in a gentle, supportive voice, just as you would to a dear friend.

‘May I be happy, may I be healthy, may I be at peace.’ Repeat these words to yourself, allowing the feelings of self-compassion to sink deeply into your heart. Remember, you are doing the best you can, and that’s something to be proud of.

As you continue to breathe deeply, imagine any self-criticism or doubt being washed away by the soothing light of self-compassion. You are enough, just as you are.”

Forgiveness

“Now, bring to mind someone or a situation that you may have been holding onto, in terms of unforgiveness. See them in your mind’s eye, and imagine taking a deep breath in… and out…

As you exhale, imagine any negative emotions or resentment leaving your body. Repeat the following phrase to yourself: ‘I choose to forgive, I choose to let go.’ Allow the feelings of forgiveness to rise up, filling your heart with compassion and understanding.

Remember, forgiveness doesn’t mean what happened was okay, but rather that you’re choosing to release the negative emotions associated with it. You’re freeing yourself from the weight of resentment, allowing yourself to heal and move forward.”

Integration

“As you continue to relax, imagine integrating these feelings of self-compassion and forgiveness into your daily life. Envision yourself responding to challenging situations with kindness, understanding, and patience.

Remember, you are worthy of compassion, forgiveness, and love – not just from others, but from yourself as well. You are doing the best you can, and that’s something to be proud of.

Take a deep breath in, and out, and when you’re ready, slowly open your eyes. Take a moment to notice how you’re feeling before getting up and going about your day.”

Counting

“Take one final, deep breath in… and out… When I’m done counting, you’ll be back to full awareness, feeling refreshed, renewed, and more compassionate towards yourself and others. 5… 4… 3… 2… 1… Eyes open, take a deep breath in, and enjoy the rest of your day.”
